Server using port 5900 after uninstall

Hi,

I have reason to believe that the Vine System server has remained intact and is using port 5900 even after I uninstalled the application (or, at least I think I uninstalled the app).

I'd like to do a complete Vine VNC uninstall to test the theory. How is the most thorough way to assure that the application is completely off my system.

    1) If you have installed a System Server then you can either:
    - Launch the Vine Server.app and from the Startup Tab hit Disable System Server.
    - Or manually remove (drag to the trash) the folder /Library/StartupItems/OSXvnc and restart.
    2) Quit any running copies of the Vine Server application.
    3) Finally, remove (drag to the Trash) the Application (Vine Server.app that is usually installed in /Applications).[/list]

    That's all there is too it.


    Keep in mind that if you are running Apple Remote Desktop it will continue to respond on port 5900 - this has nothing to do with Vine Server and must be disabled from System Preferences->Sharing.
